Welcome to my digital portfolio.
My name is Hal, I’m a young artist and designer from Sussex, United Kingdom. I’m currently doing an Art and Design Foundation specialising in Graphic Design,
with a background in Fine Art and an experimental approach to visual commmunication.
My work is purposeful and people focused and I’m always ready to explore new ideas. I love taking risks and pushing myself to improve, drawing energy from music, films, culture, politics and the everyday things that make people curious.
I’m open to all kinds of creative collaborations and always excited to see where new projects take me.
OTHER WORKS

3D COLLABORATIVE PROJECT: “IMPACT”
DESCRIPTION

- Examining the space which we had to work within
- Collaborative idea generation
- Exploration of “space”
- Aim to evoke themes of tension, balance and connection
- Sharp outward-reaching poles suggesting an explosion of energy,
a moment of impact captured in physical form
- The dynamic arrangement of mirrors, the sudden dispersal of force and ideas, symbolising the way creativity and influence radiate outward from a single moment of collective effort
- Yellow tape used throughout the project to evoke a sense of connectivity of ideas

3D PROJECT: EXPLORING FORM
DESCRIPTION

- Exploring form, structure, perspective and movement using tin cans
- By manipulating folds and varying the direction and tightness of each crease, I studied how simple folds can create complex three dimensional shapes
- This experimentation helped me understand how materials can hold tension and create dynamic curves or rigid geometric forms
- Balance of precision, fluidity and balance

FASHION AND TEXTILES PROJECT: IDENTITY
DESCRIPTION

- Inspired by Celtic and Roman masks which often carried themes of identity, ritual and transformation
- I was drawn to the geometric rigidity of Roman designs and the more organic, symbolic layering found in Celtic traditions
- Using cardboard allowed me to echo those structural forms while keeping the material raw and tactile
- The red cross stitches are central to the concept. They represent healing, vulnerability and resistance
- Red thread has long been associated with blood sacrifice and connection and by stitching it across the face, I wanted to evoke the tension between concealment and exposure, damage and repair, linking to this theme of ‘protection’

TETRAPACK PRINT AND COLLAGE PROJECT
DESCRIPTION

- Exploration of urban environemnts and architecture and daily routine
- Collaging to create texture and visual intrigue
- Experimentation with tetra pack print to create varied outcomes
- Using different printing surfaces such as paper, canvas and fabric for varied visual effect

FINE ART A-LEVEL FINAL PIECE:
EXPLORING ISOLATION WITHIN URBAN SPACES
DESCRIPTION

- An exploration of isolation within urban, enclosed spaces with expressive portraiture
- Focus on contrast, Chiaroscuro, and tone to evoke a sense of drama
